If you ask me, dinner is at 6 p.m.
After a sweet and restful night, we wake up to a new and beautiful day. Start off your day right.
Have a fantastic fried breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages, and mushrooms, or a hearty bowl of cooked quinoa topped with sautéed vegetables.
Breakfast is the most skipped meal. Some of us have a habit of skipping breakfast which can lead us to health consequences. Our body is an incredible machine, it obtains what it needs anyway from dinner meals. Dinner meals give a great risk of being overweight.
Rethink your breakfast choices. It could be a serving of smoked salmon on a bagel with greens and tomatoes; an everything bagel with butter; cooled lentil with olives on top; cooked brown rice topped with honey, cinnamon, golden raisins, and lemon zest; cooked brown rice with avocado, cucumber and wrapped in seaweed with a bit of tamari; farmer cheese topped with sour cream, honey, and cinnamon; five-grain cereal with milk and your favorite fruits on top; cooked barley topped with dried cherries and chopped walnuts; cooked pearled barley topped with bananas, strawberries, honey, and chopped walnuts; Greek yogurt mixed with cocoa powder, honey, and banana; or black caviar on a freshly baked piece of bread with butter. Treat yourself like a royalty.
My lunches are similar every day, I usually have a lot of vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, carrots, greens, and some fish – salmon, but sometimes I have sardines or halibut.
When your breakfast and lunch are substantial and filling you won’t need dinner. When you eat enough during the day, by the time you come home you will want to have a light dinner or you will have skipped dinner because you are not hungry. Sit down to dinner with your family or friends talking, sharing more about your day, your goals, and eating less. You can replace your dinner with a snack. Snacks could be mini sweet peppers stuffed with hummus and chopped Brazil nuts, hummus on pita bread with greens, almond butter on sliced apples, mashed avocado with herbs and spices, a glass of yogurt, or a glass of freshly squeezed carrot juice.
An everyday mantra is to eat in moderation. Experiment and explore a new territory of foods. Remember dinner is at 6 p.m. After a light dinner, you will wake up in the morning to another gorgeous day with a ravenous appetite.
