Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Produce Manager oversees the daily operations of the department, ensuring that products and case displays are fully stocked at all times. Additional responsibilities include receiving deliveries and following protocols to rotate and stock products as needed.

• Possess proficient knowledge of products and operations within the grocery department.
• Display fruits and vegetables to convey a sense of abundance and quality, while maintaining proper storage conditions.
• Accurately label items with price tags or signs, and report price discrepancies to managers.
• Contribute to product flow by receiving daily deliveries and distributing products to the sales floor as directed.
• Maintain knowledge of all products and operations within the department.
• Train, supervise, oversee, and manage new and existing employees in the department.
• Ensure compliance with company operating policies and procedures.
• Maintain close liaison with vendors regarding product orders.
• Assist in ordering, stocking, and displaying products.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Inform the store manager of customer requests and concerns.
• Responsible for the training and development of new and existing employees in all aspects of the job, including stocking and merchandising, sales and customer service, and other department-related tasks.
• Comply with sanitation and safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure customers are served quickly, efficiently, and in a pleasant manner.
• Respond resourcefully to customer requests and concerns.
• Ensure customers have outstanding shopping experience within the store.
• Utilize and maintain equipment as required by the department.
• Inform the store manager of customer concerns and employee matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency degree
• Experience with managing produce or similar department in retail setting.
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problems
• Able to work well with others as a team member
• A passion for serving people
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Attention to detail and organization.
