A PB&J, a.k.a Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich is arguably one of the most iconic, and delicious, sandwiches out there. It’s also one of the easiest to prepare. While everyone knows the standard PB & J sandwich; spreading peanut butter on one side of a slide of bread, jelly or jam on one side of a different slice of bread, and putting the two coated sides of bread together, there is more than one way to make this iconic sandwich. Here are three alternative recipes for making PB & J sandwiches:
Rock-and-Roll legend Elvis Presley’s favorite sandwich was a PB-Bacon-Banana sandwich.
-2 slices white bread
-2 tablespoons peanut butter
-1/2 large ripe banana, sliced lengthwise into four thin pieces
-4 slices bacon cooked
-2 tablespoons honey
- Preheat a pan over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Spread peanut butter on each slid of bread. Place banana slices on top of peanut butter. Top it with bacon slices and drizzle with honey. Top with the other bread slice, buttered side up.
- Place sandwich on the pan. Cook until golden brown and crispy, approximately three minutes on each side. Transfer to cutting board, slide in half and enjoy.
